Nach dem etwas enttäuschenden ersten Starttag mit nur 210 Teilnehmern stürmten gestern 335 Spieler das $25.000 Finale der World Poker Tour. Chipleader ist Jeffrey King. Für Florian lief der Tag nur mäßig.

Das BellagioMan hatte zwar mehr Teilnehmern als an Tag 1A erwartet, aber mit solch einem Ansturm auf den zweiten Starttag des WPT-Finales hatte wohl niemand mehr gerechnet. Die 335 Starter katapultieren den Preispool auf über 13 Millionen Dollar. 100 der 545 Teilnehmer werden sich in den Geldrängen platzieren. Dem Gewinner winken $3.389.140.

Ein sehr gutes Turnier spielte unter anderem David Benyamine. Mit 174.000 Chips konnte er sich weit vorne im Chiplead platzieren. Der aus Paris stammende Franzose gehört zweifelsohne zu den absoluten Pros im Pokergeschäft. Benyamine konnte bereits zwei WPT-Events gewinnen. Auch online gehört er zu den besten Spielern und ist regelmäßig in den höchsten Limits auf Full Tilt Poker zu finden.

Tom “durrrr” Dwan spielte bisher ebenfalls ein starkes Turnier. Er konnte sowohl Justin Bonomo als auch Beth Shak eliminieren und übernahm so zeitweise sogar den Chiplead. Dwan gehört, wie Benyamine, zu den gefürchtetsten Onlinespielern. Sein bestes WPT-Ergebnis war ein 4. Platz bei den World Poker Finals in Mashantucket. Daniel Negreanu und Gus Hansen konnten ebenso die 100.000-Chips-Marke sprengen. Die weitere Liste der Pros ist so lang, dass wir sie hier nicht weiter aufzählen können. Fast jede Position im Chipcount ist von einem prominenten Spieler belegt.

Chipleader ist Jeffrey King mit 211.575 Chips. Sein größter Erfolg war bisher ein erster Platz beim WSOP Circuit im Caesars Atlantic City im Jahr 2006. Doch auch bei der WPT konnte King bereits zweimal cashen.

Florian LangmannAus Deutschland trat, wie gestern bereits angekündigt, unter anderem Florian Langmann an. Für ihn soll es jedoch Live im Moment einfach nicht laufen. Mit 28.250 Chips muss er sich im hinteren Teil des Chipcounts einordnen. Dort leistet ihm Markus Lehmann Gesellschaft. Lehmann ist zur Zeit einer der aktivsten und erfolgreichsten deutschen Spieler in den USA. Gestern reichte es bei ihm jedoch auch nur für knapp 28.000 Chips. Etwas besser lief es für Andreas Krause. Dieser konnte zwar auch keine großartigen Gewinne verzeichnen, platzierte sich mit 52.775 aber zumindest noch im hinteren Mittelfeld.

Zu denen, die nicht mehr dabei sind gehören unter anderem Andy Bloch, Allen Cunningham, Gavin Griffin, Phil Laak und Lee Watkinson. Insgesamt überstanden 420 Spieler die ersten beiden Starttage und kehren heute zu Tag 2 zurück an die Tische im Bellagio.
